patch204PATCHWORK  PATH: A QUILT MAP TO FREEDOM was published by Candlewick Press. Illustrated by Erin Susanne Bennett, this picture book begins in Savannah, GA. It tells the story of a young slave girl and her father as they journey to Canada and freedom, using patterns on the quilt sampler the girl's deceased mother taught her to stitch.
This title has received  an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Award. It has also been selected as a Comstock Honor book.
